Does Taylor Manor accept Long Term Care insurance policies?
Yes, and we will assist you in completing the necessary forms for long-term care insurance.

Can we keep our physicians?
We have three physicians on-call 24/7 and abide by Kentucky state regulations for frequency of visits. Our physicians reside in the area and have partnered with Taylor Manor for many years. We recommend selecting one of our three physicians to meet all the medical care needs of your loved one. Residents may use their own physician as long as the physician agrees to these same standards of on-call services and required frequency of on-site visits.

How are medications provided?
It is not necessary to bring additional medications as we have an on-site pharmacy. Family members may bring empty medication bottles for our nursing staff and pharmacist to review current medications. The pharmacy invoices separately from Taylor Manor and files insurance claims as needed. Our pharmacist reviews monthly medications and regularly consults with the physicians regarding pharmaceutical needs.

How are meals provided?
We have a dietician on staff that collaborates with our physicians, Director of Nursing and dietary staff to identify the nutritional needs of each resident. Residents who are ambulatory socialize together during meals in the main dining room. We also have smaller dining rooms on each hall for additional residents. Residents may take meals in their rooms but we encourage as much socialization as possible during the meal times.

Does Taylor Manor have any vacancies?
Vacancies vary from month to month. If we do not have a vacancy when a need arises we will be happy to place you on a waiting list and contact you upon availability. Again, we are here to accommodate you and your loved one as much as possible. We encourage families whose loved one is on our waiting list to keep us updated on any changes.

Can we bring any furniture from home?
Residents may bring personal items from home to their new home at Taylor Manor. We provide a bed in each resident room. In the personal care rooms there is a desk, chair and nightstand. Residents sometimes bring a telephone, television and/or comfortable chair to place in their rooms. Family members must arrange any cable and phone services. Set up of the room may be done prior to admission, which may help the resident transition to a familiar environment.

What items do we need to bring for my family member?
Please bring comfortable clothing, undergarments, shoes, toiletry items, (toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, etc.). Taylor Manor provides bed linen, but residents may choose to bring their own blanket, sheets, pillows, etc. Residents must provide their own bath towels, hand towels and washcloths. Our laundry services will provide nametags for all clothing and other personal items that we launder. Please do not bring any clothing that must be dry-cleaned as we do not have this capability. Our fee for laundry services covers cleaning all bedding and clothing on a regular basis each week.

Do you have a dress code for visitors?

Do I need to provide personal supplies (i.e. deodorant, bath soap/shampoo, etc.)?

Taylor Manor has these supplies available to be used by our residents. The charge is added to the monthly invoice. Family members may bring in supplies but will be responsible to monitor and replace as necessary. If a resident’s personal supplies are depleted we will supply their needs from our stock and add this charge to the monthly invoice.
